Healthy Food Finder is an online product search tool. You can use it to search for packaged foods and drinks to sell in NSW school canteens and health facilities. Healthy Food Finder can help you meet the:

  • Healthy Food and Drink in NSW Health Facilities for Staff and Visitors Framework.

What is the Food and Drink Criteria?

The Food and Drink Criteria (the Criteria) are steps to a healthy NSW school canteen or food outlet in a NSW Health facility. The Criteria can help you find out if a food or drink is suitable for sale. The Criteria are a little different in schools and health facilities. Healthy Food Finder can help you check if a packaged food or drink meets the Criteria for your area.

Is Healthy Food Finder only for NSW?

Yes. The Criteria used in Healthy Food FInder only applies to NSW. For other Australian state or territory health policies in schools or health facilities, visit their relevant websites.

Can I use Healthy Food Finder on a Mobile and is there an App?

Currently there is no App for Healthy Food Finder. You can access the tool on any mobile device using a web browser. For the best experience, access this site on a tablet or desktop device.

Registering to use Healthy Food Finder

How do I register for Healthy Food Finder?

To register as a user, select the "Sign in/Register" button on the homepage.

Once selected, you will be taken to the sign in page. You will need to select the "Register" tab in order to begin the registration process.

Why do I need to register to use Healthy Food Finder?

The food and drink information has been supplied by SP Health Co. Pty Ltd trading as Digital Wellness. It is a requirement from Digital Wellness that Healthy Food Finder is only used by:

  • NSW school canteen staff and volunteers (Government, Catholic and Independent schools)
  • NSW Health food and drink suppliers and retailers
  • NSW Department of Education employees
  • Association of Independent Schools of NSW employees
  • Catholic Schools of NSW employees
  • NSW Health staff and volunteers
  • Staff of other NSW Government organisations.

Who can use Healthy Food Finder?

Healthy Food Finder is only suitable for those implementing healthy eating policies in NSW school canteens and health facilities. For example:

  • canteen staff and volunteers
  • retailers in health facilities
  • food and drink suppliers or manufacturers
  • NSW Health and NSW Department of Education staff.

I have not received an email verification to finish registration – what do I do?
  1. Check your ‘junk mail’ folder for an email from ‘Healthy Food Finder’. Please note it may take up to 5 minutesto receive the email.
  2. In Healthy Food Finder tool (website) go to profile and then select the ‘resend verification email'.
  3. If you still do not receive an email, use the Contact us form or call 1800 930 966 during business hours, Monday to Friday between 9am-5pm

The food and drink information is from the Digital Wellness database run by a team of data experts and nutritionists. It is accurate to the best of their knowledge. Please read our Disclaimer for more information.

How do I add a product to Healthy Food Finder?

You can request a food or drink product be added to the tool on the Item request page. To help us add the product, please include clear photographs of the:

  • front-of-pack
  • back-of-pack (or side-of-pack) showing the nutrition information and the ingredients list.

We will investigate and update the data as soon as possible. Data in Healthy Food Finder is refreshed on a weekly basis but requests and sometimes take longer depending on if the information is easily available.

How can I request that food and drink data be updated or changed?

If you think that food and drink data is incorrect, please visit the Item Request page. Select "Update an existing product", complete and submit the form.

We will investigate and update the data as soon as possible. Data in Healthy Food Finder is refreshed on a weekly basis.

I am a food manufacturer or supplier – how do I add multiple products at once?

For requests to add multiple products to Healthy Food Finder, you can:
